Upgrade of Las Vegas convention center

The nation’s third largest convention center is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority. To popularize the southern Nevada’s leisure and business industries to travelers around the world the agency uses revenue from the room tax. To maintain its popularity in the coming years the renovation of the convention center was proposed and $400 million was approved to modernize the center. The feed back on the venues strength and the weakness was collected through the meeting of 60 current and potential clients. The feedback focused on the need for more meeting rooms and general session space.

The work is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2006. Measures are being taken to ensure that the existing customers are not unreasonably interrupted. Financial schedule has been made keeping in mind the rebuilding effort that is taking place in gulf coast that can affect the construction material, manpower availability and the cost.
